PU organizes talk on emerging opportunities
The Placement Cell of the Department of Public Administration, Panjab University, Chandigarh organized a Lecture and Interaction on “Preparing for Emerging Job Opportunities” on 24th March, 2009. The Chairperson, Mr. Sudhir Sharma, while introducing the speaker shared the objectives of the placement activity in the Department, according to Punjab Newspaper (www.punjabnewspaper.com)
The resource person, Prof. S.K. Chadha, Placement Coordinator, University Business School, Panjab University familiarized the students with the skills in demand in the job market today and the scope of social science graduates for gearing themselves to meet this demand. He emphasizing on building a combination of knowledge and soft skills and the effort to showcase this to potential employers. In addition, Prof. Chadha, while stressing the key role of the students in a successful placement activity, discussed ways in which an effective Placement Cell should be established and run. Dr. Ramanjit K. Johal, Placement Coordinator, Department of Public Administration thanked Prof. Chadha for the extremely well received presentation and the discussion that it generated.
