Akali Dal clears name of seven candidates for parliament polls
With the annoucement of the name of Dr Daljeet Singh Cheema as the candidate for the Anandpur Sahib constituency, the Shiromani Akali Dal has announced 7 out of its 10 candidates so far, while its alliance partner the BJP has announced 2 of its 3 candidates. While both the BJP candidates are celebrities, namely Bollywood actor Venod Khanna and cricketer turned commentator Navjot Singh Sidhu, the Akali Dal has nominated one celebrity, namely singer Hans Raj Hans.
The Akali Dal candidates are:
Anandpur Sahib: Dr Daljeet Singh Cheema
Patiala: Prem Singh Chandumajra
Khadur Sahib: Dr Rattan Singh Ajnala
Fatehgarh Sahib: Charanjit Singh Atwal
Jalandhar: Hans Raj Hans
Sangrur: Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa
Faridkot: Paramjeet Kaur Gulshan
The BJP has also announced two candidates and both of them are celebrities
Gurdaspur: Venod Khanna
Amritsar: Navjot Singh Sidhu
