Park for visually challenged to come up at Chandigarh
A park meant exclusively for the visually challenged will be set up in Chandigarh. The foundation stone of the park was laid in Sector 26 today. The park for visually challenged people shall be the first one of its kind in India. The park is expected to cost Rs 1.2 million, according to the mayor of Chandigarh, Pardeep Chabhra. The park is likely to be named Sensory Park or Park for Blind.
It is expected to be complete in the next three months. The land adjoining the Institute of Blind in Sector 26 has been acquired for this purpose. The park shall have herbal plants which can be easily recognized by sensory organs of touch and smell. A sound system shall also be installed to play music during the evening hours.
