The enquiry reports alongwith recommendations have been examined and accordingly Commission has come to the conclusion that the election process in the Gram Panchayats Village Jalla Tehsil Payal, Village Kot Manna Block Sidhwan Bet Tehsil Jagraon, Village Gorsian Makhan Block Sidhwan Bet and Gram Panchayat Village Alliwal Block Sidhwan Bet District Ludhiana has been vitiated. Accordingly poll in the following villages is countermanded and fresh election schedule shall be issued separately.
Since the Panchayat poll is scheduled to be held on 26.05.2008, therefore, the above directions are communicated to the District Electoral Officer/ Additional District Electoral Officer for immediate compliance. the detailed orders, alongwith action, if any, to be taken against the Returning Officer, shall be communicated lateron.
This issues in exercise of the powers vested with the State Election Commission under Article 243K and 243N of the Constitution of India.
