381 acres of land acquired for Knowledge City in Mohali
The Punjab Chief Secretary Mr. Ramesh Inder Singh today held a review meeting to finalize the layout out plan of Knowledge City to be set up at Sector 81 of SAS Nagar Mohali.
It was informed in the meeting that Punjab Government has already acquired 381 acres of land to set up an integrated Knowledge city.
The concept Layout plan prepared for the Knowledge City showing parcels of land to be allocated to Indian Institute of Science Education &Research, Nanotechnology, NABI, BIO-Technology and Management Institute was discussed and it was unanimously decided to approve it with minor modifications and readjustments. The area allocated for IISER (Including Nanotechnology Institute)- is approximately 160 acres, for N.A.B.I. is approx. 35 acres, for Bio-Technology Park is -approx. 80 acres, for Management Institute is -approx. 70 acres. and for P.B.T.I.is approx.-3 acres.
It was emphasized in the meeting that there is a need to preferably have one single agency to detail out the layout and architecture plan so as to achieve not only homogeneity & uniformity within the sector but to provide integrated infrastructure & common facilities in an intergraded manner.
The meeting was also attended by Principal Resident Commissioner, Pb.
