Medical college to be set up near Pathankot
A new medical college would be set up near Pathankot. The proposed college, to be in the private sector, would provide health care facilities to the people in the backward area which had been neglected so far in this regard.
A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting between the Punjab Chief Minister Mr.Parkash Singh Badal and representatives of the Khasa Group led its Chairman-cum-MD HS Bagga here this morning. Mr.Bagga urged the Chief Minister to expedite the formalities so that they could start this venture at the earliest. He also showed keen interest to start Adarsh Schools in Amritsar district as per the stipulated guidelines of the government. The group has a reputation of creating educational infrastructure in Andhra Pradesh where a new medical college at Hyderabad with ultra-modern facilities is likely to be inaugurated soon.
Prominent amongst others who were present in the meeting included Secretary Education KBS Sidhu, Special Principal Secretary to Chief Minister SS Sandhu, Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Anil Kumar Mahajan and Mr.DK Dogra consultant of the Khasa Group.
